Results from the

2003 National Youth Action Chess Championship

740 players from 22 states converged on the Clock Tower for this national scholastic chess event. About 40 local players participated representing about 15 local schools and did remarkably well. Rockford teams pulled in 7 national team trophies this past weekend. An Auburn high school student won first place in the high school division to be crowned national champion of the tournament.
